Michael Houtz is an editorial designer and freelance art director on The New York Times Opinion desk. He’s previously worked for publications like Esquire and The New York Times Magazine.
Adept in crafting brand identity systems and experiences, he’s also worked with agencies like Pentagram, The Heads of State, and Standard Black for clients that have included Adidas Y-3, DC Comics, Netflix, Nike, Temple University, and Warner Brothers.
His conceptual photo-illustrations have been featured on The Atlantic, Esquire, The Economist, Fortune, The New York Times, Politico, and Vanity Fair.
